Two Orkney excavations are covered in the new series of the BBC TV programme Digging for Britain, which is available now on iPlayer.

Professor Alice Roberts visited the county last summer to film at our dig at The Cairns Iron Age site and also the University of Cardiff/National Museums Scotland excavation of the Blomuir Neolithic chambered cairn in Holm.

The programme, the third in the series, is due to be broadcast on BBC2 at 8pm on Thursday, January 9. The entire series is already available on the BBC iPlayer.
