The local authority is looking for a new county archaeologist to take over when Julie Gibson, who has been in the post for over two decades, retires later this year.
The successful candidate will help protect and enhance the island’s acclaimed archaeological assets, develop archaeological guidance and provide advice to the OIC, developers and the public. They will also work on strategies, projects and funding bids and further develop community interest and involvement in archaeology.
