The recording of October 2022’s monthly UHI Archaeology Institute research seminar, featuring Dr Julia Cussans, who outlines her PhD research into size and shape changes in domestic mammal bones in the North Atlantic region.

Julia completed her undergraduate and doctoral studies at the University of Bradford, alongside which she worked for the North Atlantic Research Unit (University of Bradford), working on the Old Scatness Broch project as well as a number of other North Atlantic research projects.

Following the completion of her PhD, Julia worked as a commercial archaeozoological specialist for a number of years and has now returned to academic research and the Northern Isles, currently carrying out postdoctoral research for the LIFTE project and working a relief lecturer for the UHI Archaeological Institute.
