The 2024 dates for the three UHI Archaeology Institute excavations have been confirmed:
- The Cairns, South Ronaldsay, Orkney: Monday, June 10 – Friday, July 5, 2024. Open day: June 28, 2024.
- Ness of Brodgar, Stenness, Orkney: Monday, June 24 – Friday, August 23, 2024. Please note that the site is open to the public between June 26 and August 16, 2024. This is the final fieldwork season at the Ness so the last chance to see the site before it is backfilled. Open days: July 14 and August 4, 2024.
- Skaill farm, Rousay, Orkney: Monday, July 8- Friday, July 26, 2024. Open day: July 20, 2024.
As usual, visitors are welcome to all excavations during working hours, with tours available.
- Our friends at the Knowe of Swandro, Rousay, are back on site from June 17, 2024, for eight weeks.
