The Skaill excavation in Rousay have their open day tomorrow, Saturday, July 20.

Running from 9.30am until 4.30pm, visitors can park in the Midhowe car park and make their way to the site via the stalled cairn. The excavation site is easy to spot.
As well as seeing archaeology in action, on site there will be:
- Living History – explore the Vikings and medieval period with re-enactors Keith and Alan.
- Costume making – Orkney artist Anna Gardener draws on inspiration from the excavations.
- Sound workshop – explore the sounds at Skaill with artists Aileen Ogilvie and Lara Band.
If you can’t make the open day, the site is open to visitors, on weekdays, until July 26.
