Art and archaeology students feature in science festival exhibition and talk

The work of two MA Contemporary Art and Archaeology students feature in an Orkney International Science Festival exhibition, which opens next week.

The work of two students of our MA Contemporary Art and Archaeology course will feature in an exhibition forming part of the 34th Orkney International Science Festival, which begins next week.

Surf and Turf will include the Orkney section of A Fragile Correspondence, an event at the 18th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice, alongside Mother of the Sea, by the Orkney Japan Association, and Earthbound Orkney by Earth Building UK and Ireland.

A 2D print reinterpretation of Aaron McCarthy’s work in Venice will be displayed in the A Fragile Correspondence section, while Becky Little’s work appears in the Earthbound Orkney exhibition, with links to her recent exhibition at the Maeshowe visitor centre, Orkney.

The exhibition can be viewed at the Ship of Fools gallery, Bridge Street, Kirkwall.

Becky will also be delivering a talk, alongside Tom Morton, To Build in Orkney’s Earth and Stone, at the Phoenix Cinema, Kirkwall, on Thursday, September 5, 2024.

This year’s Orkney International Science Festival runs from Thursday, September 5, until Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
