The archaeology of Uist is the subject of a new book by the UHI Archaeology Institute’s Dr Rebecca Rennel and Dr Emily Gal.

Based on their award-winning Uist Virtual Archaeology Project, Uist Unearthed tells the story of 5,000 years of the area’s history through five key archaeological sites.
- Cladh Hallan (Bronze Age)
- Cill Donnain and Dùn Torcuill (Iron Age)
- Bornais (Norse period)
- Dùn an Sticir (Medieval)
The interactive book, which is published in October, also considers the importance of Gaelic language and culture in the interpretation and understanding of archaeological landscapes.
Uist Unearthed: 5000 Years of prehistory and history told through the interactive exploration of five archaeological sites is published by Brepols. More details, including how to pre-order, here.
