Today was a big day for UHI Orkney with the annual graduation ceremony taking place in St Magnus Cathedral, Orkney.
Among those flocking to the twelfth-century cathedral were undergraduate and postgraduate UHI Archaeology Institute students, some of whom are pictured above along with their lecturers.

The ceremony also saw the presentation of special awards, with three archaeology students recognised for their achievements.
Tom O’Brien was awarded the Judith Robertson prize for postgraduate student who has made an outstanding contribution to the archaeology of Orkney. This prize is sponsored by Orkney Archaeology Society and was presented by Dr Colleen Batey.
Dom Farrugia won the award for Best Undergraduate Dissertation (Guarding the Past: Stirling’s 16th Century Renaissance Wall) and the award for Best Overall Undergraduate Performance (First Class Honours).
Winner of the best postgraduate student dissertation was Michael Zambon for Challenging the ‘Monumentality’ of some Stone Megalithic Structures: An Analysis of Architectural Changes of Orkney-Cromarty Multi-Period Cairns within the Northern Scottish Neolithic.
Congratulations and best wishes to all our graduates.
