From Tangle Trade to Peat SpadeORCA’s new project looking at the industrial heritage of Orkney’s North Isles will be launched in Shapinsay next week.

On Thursday, March 14, Dan Lee and Sean Bell will be in the club rooms, with a drop-in event running from 6.30-8.30pm. This will allow residents to highlight Shapinsay sites that interest them.

An introductory talk on the project takes place at 7pm.

All are welcome to these free events.

Commissioned by the North Isles Landscape Partnership, From peat spade to tangle trade: The industrial heritage of Orkney’s North Isles is exploring sites of industrial heritage in Orkney’s North Isles, setting them in inter-island and wider contexts.
