
Professor Jane Downes, the director of the UHI Archaeology Institute, was among the experts participating in the NORA – UNESCO Network Conference in Edinburgh on Friday.
The event took place to look at the vital role of UNESCO sites in sustainable development across the North Atlantic and Arctic regions.
Professor Downes shared her expertise in two presentations: Archaeological Heritage and Sustainable Development and Climate Change and Heritage.
The conference concluded with commitments to engage with the Nordic Council of Ministers and other partners at the upcoming Arctic Circle Assembly and the Sisimiut II conference, ensuring the momentum continues to drive change across the region.
