PhD student Holly Young took the award for best research poster at the recent UHI Postgraduate Research Student Conference.
Funded by the Scottish Graduate School for Arts and Humanities (SGSAH), Holly started her PhD, Shore Life: The Contribution of Marine Molluscs to Iron Age Subsistence in Northern Scotland, in 2021.
This was after she secured her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the UHI Archaeology Institute.
Hailing from the Scottish Borders, Holly relocated to Orkney after finishing school to start her BA (Hons) after being told that if she wanted to study Archaeology, Orkney was the place to be.
