Nick Card’s presentation looks in more detail at Structure Twenty-Seven, which, even in terms of the Ness of Brodgar, stands apart due to its unique appearance, spectacular masonry, and construction techniques that rival the best architecture in Neolithic Britain.

Dr Hugo Anderson-Whymark, from National Museums Scotland, gives an overview of the rediscovery and excavation of the Maeshowe-type chambered cairn at Blomuir, Holm, Orkney. He is co-director of the dig, together with Professor Vicki Cummings of Cardiff University.
