Associate Professor Scott Timpany will lead a project to assess some of the carbonised plant remains from the Ness of Brodgar – one of 43 to receive funding through the first Research Infrastructure for Conservation and Heritage Science (RICHeS) Access Fund.
Over £500,000 has been awarded across the country, enabling projects to access specialist heritage science facilities, collections and expertise that would otherwise have been beyond their reach.
Plant remains and the environmental and economic context of the Ness of Brodgar, will be carried out at the UHI Archaeology Institute’s AEONS facility, in association with the Ness of Brodgar Trust.
Our AEONS service will also be used for four other RICHeS funded projects:
