Jemima Hall, who has just completed the MA Contemporary Art and Archaeology, is featuring in two group exhibitions this autumn.
- To Know the World We Live – An Tobar, Isle of Mull, until Friday December 11
To Know the World We Live traces the voyage of 12 creators across philosophy, art, and science, travelling through the Skaggerak, North Sea, and Baltic Sea. Over three weeks, as part of the North Atlantic islands residency, they travelled 777 miles aboard the Excelsior, a traditional fishing smack built more than a century ago.
- ‘Gluasad Gun Sguir’ Perpetual Motion – An Lanntair, Stornoway, Lewis, until Saturday, December 5
In this collaboration between the Scottish Society of Artists (SSA) and An Lanntair, artists from across Scotland, and beyond, reflect on the migration of people, animals, objects, systems and ideas.
As part of this exhibition, Jemima is showing her Salmon Skin Kite, developed as part of her Final Project in Contemporary Art and Archaeology at UHI. The kite was made from tanned salmon skin, on a willow frame, sewn with thread and salmon skin.
