Tombs of the Isles launch tour in Papay this week

The UHI Archaeology Institute Tombs of the Isles community project reaches Papa Westray this week, with launch events on March 16 and 17.

A talk in the heritage centre will introduce Orkney’s Neolithic cairns at Beltane on Wednesday, March 16 (7.30-9pm), followed by the drop-in, at the same venue, the following day (10am-4pm).

The drop-in event will allow Eday folk to discuss their island’s tombs, view artefacts and explore the creation of island-specific “tomb archives”.
