The launch of ORCA’s new industrial heritage project took place in Eday earlier this month. Two of the participants told blogger Bernie Bell about their “brilliant day”, which she has documented here.

Meanwhile, after Eday’s launch on Tuesday, Dan and Sean are in Rousay on Saturday with an introductory talk at 2pm.

A drop-in event will also run there from 1-4.30pm.

All events are free and open to all.

Commissioned by the North Isles Landscape Partnership, From peat spade to tangle trade: The industrial heritage of Orkney’s North Isles is exploring sites of industrial heritage in Orkney’s North Isles, setting them in inter-island and wider contexts.
