Spring is just around the corner and, with the (theoretically) better weather, our student fieldtrips continued last week with a visit to view archaeological and heritage sites in Rousay.

The group of undergraduate and postgraduate students began the day with a visit to the Midhowe broch and stalled cairn, before heading along to Wirk, St Mary’s Kirk and the Skaill farm excavation site.

From there it was on to the Midhowe, Quandale and Wasbister viewpoints before ending the trip at the Taversoe Tuick and Blackhammer chambered cairns.

If you are interested in archaeology, our three Masters degrees – MSc in Archaeological Practice, MLitt in Archaeological Studies and MA in Contemporary Art and Archaeology – are now enrolling for a start in September 2024. Click here for details.
