Two chapters from UHI Archaeology Institute contributors feature in a new book looking at social and economic interaction in the medieval and early modern European countryside.

Trade and markets in early modern Orkney by Sarah Jane Gibbon, Jocelyn Rendall, Anne Mitchell and Jennifer Harland and Produce from the isles: the production and export of later medieval and early modern foodstuffs in Orkney and Shetland, by Jennifer Harland, Bart Holterman, Ingrid Mainland and Julia Cussans, were the result of our LIFTE research project.

Farmers’ Trade and Markets, edited by Marie Ødegaard, Kjetil Loftsgarden and Claudia Theune, is published by Sidestone Press and can be read online free.
