In this, her third lecture, Dr Antonia Thomas discusses the rock art found in the Holm of Papa Westray South chambered cairn.
Decoration in the Neolithic structure’s chamber was first recorded in 1849, with Antonia identifying 34 areas of possible marking in her 2018 survey. The majority of the markings were were created by pecking or grinding.
