Tombs of the Isles – 1937 photographs of the Knowe of Rowiegar, Rousay

There's little left to see of this Neolithic stalled cairn now, but we’ve added photographs after its 1937 excavation to the Knowe of Rowiegar's Tombs of the Isles entry.

There’s little left to see of this Neolithic stalled cairn now, but we’ve added photographs after its 1937 excavation to the Knowe of Rowiegar’s Tombs of the Isles entry.

The cairn was one of a number excavated by William Grant and James Callander in the 1930s, with photographs taken by the Edinburgh surveyor and draughtsman David Wilson.
